Pros

The Community, Mission/Purpose, and Peer Relationships. If you’re a nurse, just please know the executive teams know you’re underpaid… it won’t change.

Cons

Mark O’Halla, Clarence Sevillian, and Malcolm Isley have all been here for 4+ years yet they continue to blame the previous teams or market for very avoidable issues. Most of us know Malcolm as the Joe Biden of Prisma - out of touch, rambling, and loosely coherent. Clarence is simply Mark’s henchman, together they couldn’t get themselves out of a paper bag. They will blame the “old systems” for why they can’t budget or manage traditional RCM, while spending millions on consultants to tell them how to fix the messes they create. The one thing they are good at is creating one of the worst work cultures that I’ve ever been a part of… revolving door of layoffs, backstabbing, “politics” and a general lack of appreciation for why most of the essential staff got into healthcare.

Pros

Magnet status, Diverse patient population allows for greater experience. Trauma 1, Comprehensive Stroke Center, teaching hospital, high investment in EPIC utilization

Cons

Level of education of many nurses there is low, no requirement for minimum BSN, staff is young, turns over, a lot. Frustrating at times. Management not the best communicators, no constructive feedback, perhaps spread to thinly to be effective.
