Pros

The gym at the Corporate HQ is top notch; vacation time for 5 years or more is better than most companies I've worked for; new management in the med-mal division seems to understand the mess and has a plan to fix it; if you want a career in Claims, this is the best in the MPL industry Claims department, the other departments are good places to learn/start a career in MPL insurance as well and the company still has industry credibility that you can take with you if the culture is not a good fit.

Cons

Scroll through the old reviews and you will see employees rightly praise the 401K. The new CEO just cut it in half but there is still a Corporate jet and he still has access to it FOR PERSONAL USE. Our stock price is at all time low (it's $15 vs over 40 when he took over last year), the 401K match was just cut in half, offices closed this year with people laid off, he had a hand in all the terrible decisions that got us into our current financial and technology messes, the stock dividend was just cut from 31 cents to 5 cents; the rating agencies downgraded us, and more. All that and he still gets use of the Corporate jet for personal use. This is a culture of managerial incompetence and self dealing.

Pros

They have decent pay, if you're willing to fight for it and good PTO.

Cons

It's a fight to get good pay if you're a long-time employee. It's easier as a new hire to start off with good pay than it is for existing employees to be compensated for their value & worth to the company. Too many layers of management and unsupportive to the lower level employees. Too many required meetings that could have been an email. With many employees working remote we have several touch base meetings each week/month. I believe this is just so we can get together. But many of these meetings really don't need to happen and could easily just be an email or wrapped up in 15-20 minutes, instead of filled with inconsequential items just to fill the hour. This is especially frustrating when meetings are scheduled during the lunchtime portion of the day.
