Pros
The work environment is highly professional and respectful. I’ve never once experienced any issues with outside personal problems (either my own or anyone else’s) interfering with the work day. Management do a great job at leading by example in this respect. Outside of work, we’re all friends and get along well. But once the work day starts, we communicate more professionally and always with the distance that any healthy working relationship calls for. Writing that all out right now, I feel like that’s going to turn a lot of people away, since it’s more trendy nowadays for the workplace to be blended with the idea of fun and relaxation (nap pods, foozball tables, video games, beer carts, and all kinds of crazy ideas that have no business being in a work environment) but if you’re turned off by the idea that a place of business actually operates with the professionalism that running a business demands, then this isn’t a good fit for you in the first place.
Cons
Now that I’m thinking about it, I would say that the high turnover is due to the fact that so many younger people have unrealistic expectations for a work environment nowadays. If you expect it to fulfill your every need, you’re going to be sadly disappointed. But also, if that’s what you’re expecting from your career, you’re going to be sadly disappointed regardless of where you work.
