The most toxic job I’ve ever had - Product and Technology Procore Technologies Employee Review

Pros

Compensation is good. Some coworkers are great.

Cons

I’ve never experienced toxicity like this ever before: nepotism, zero psychological safety, fear culture, gaslighting, etc. The CTO, CPO, COO, CMO roles are all combined into one and it is the perfect example of why you need an executive team and not a single individual chasing shiny things just to show some vaporware in the yearly summit. The culture of fear is tangible with retaliation from speaking up or questioning leadership. Prioritization is the most fundamental concept in product. Yet this company has no interest in embracing it but choosing to attempt to do everything setting most teams to fail with absurd constraints. The company values are defaced on a daily basis yet hypocritically quoted by leadership constantly.

Pros

-Complete flexibility and autonomy; one of our core values is 'Ownership' and that is something I tangibly feel every day -Unlimited PTO and great benefits -An amazing team; I genuinely love everyone I work with on a daily basis -Great mission and product within a relatively stable/timeless industry (construction)

Cons

-Change is a constant - lots of leadership change over the past several years. I recognize this is not for everyone. However, I have a lot of faith in the new leadership team and the direction of the company.

Pros

Free lunch Tuesday through Thursday.

Cons

There is a huge reality issue between the Executives and the workerbees. Procore cannot scale its operations. New hires see this but leaders - especially ones that have been around since IPO- have zero ability to do anything or to understand the issues. Anyone working the deal operations knows that it’s one new motion away from complete month end chaos. The HR policies are stuck in some other generation. There are no team goals on which you are measured. There is no 360 where you can rate your manager. There is no leadership training or really any job training. There are no education benefits either.
