Pros

One on one care, opportunity to get to know your patient, interaction with family members, great wage for an LPN. Lots of downtime on night shift.

Cons

I can barely scrape together enough PRN shifts to make ends meet. Their ad I responded to on Indeed was for a full time AND/or part time LPN and listed night shifts available 7 days a week. I was initially given a permanent assignment on Thursdays and signed up to take 3 PRN shifts my first week, then they took away my Thursday shift claiming it was a mistake and was already promised to another nurse. There went about $1200 a month right there. On the nurse roster at each PRN shift I've worked, I seem to see the same 4 or 5 nurse's names...I keep seeing the same ad on Indeed every day, and I'm led to believe that what they're doing is NOT hiring nurses for full or part time positions but building a stockpile of nurses they can call on to fill in for these same 4 or 5 nurses who are lucky enough to get permanent assignments. I've already decided if I can't gain at least ONE permanent assignment in the next month, I'm going elsewhere. Also...no PTO. That was a shocker.
