Pros

As someone who has worked in education for a while now, I can say that I have finally found a place where I feel like children's needs are prioritized, teachers, staff, and leaders are happy, and innovative things are happening. New York is a tough city to teach in, but Brooklyn Prospect is figuring out how to make it all a bit more manageable, and a lot less stressful. Moreover, they are doing something really unique with their mission to diversify public schools in Brooklyn and I couldn't be more proud to be part of it.

Cons

Brooklyn Prospect is growing, for sure, and there are some things that are still being figured out. But I feel as though most of the good stuff, the important stuff, is already in place.

Pros

Excellent talent acquisition; administration knows how to build a great team of peers. High-quality student interactions. Good pay, which leadership leverages via counter-offers to prevent turnover.

Cons

Leadership prioritizes high-level metrics over daily operational efficiency and employee well-being. Inconsistent management practices and clear issues with favoritism. Administration relies heavily on current corporate/educational buzzwords without implementing substantive systemic solutions.
