Pros
Health benefits weren’t bad, people are okay, positive classroom management culture rooted in SEL and Responsive Classroom, commitment to DEI work with diverse by design model
Cons
Thinks it’s different from other charters but it’s generally the same, lack of pay equity and transparency, large restructuring happening with layoffs and departmental changes that were poorly communicated, if you’re a special education teacher or leader, please tread carefully before joining. Not a lot of built out resources and support for a rapidly growing network. Everyone felt overworked, under appreciated, and taken advantage of which has led to an immense amount of turnover among the Sped teams at the schools. Nepotism was everywhere at my school as well as a gaslighting insecure admin who is barely qualified to do her job. Pretty low staff morale and culture.
