Pros

Ability to travel, expenses covered when traveling, fun on-boarding where new hires are grouped into a class. You are given reimbursement for certifications (AWS Certifications, AML certificates, CISA, etc.) Additionally, you will receive a one-time bonus for the first certification that you finish.

Cons

While working at Protiviti, it started off as a great experience. Myself, coming straight from college, I wasn't sure if audit would be for me but I was excited about the image that Protiviti presented. Over time, from my experience, Senior Managers and above had very little interaction with consultant/senior consultant level employees. If your office is broken up between two cities (i.e. Seattle/Portland), some senior-level employees have a very minimal presence in a office due to the fact that no senior management actually live in the city. Work is given to associates with little background or insight into how to preform the work. In my experience, questions regarding the work were met with a "Figure it out yourself/don't bother me" attitude. Occasionally, tempers flared due to stressful situations that could have been easily prevented and more often than not, the lowest level of staff takes the blame for things that go wrong in a project. Mistakes are met with scornful talks, instead of being taught how to improve leading to a bad work place environment and poor psychological safety. Hours can be very long and burnout can occur due to high client demands. (Forewarning: In consulting, your client determines your work/life balance) HR has very little presence in smaller offices. Often, the assigned HR contact lives in cities 300 miles away in a separate "regional" office. If you are a consultant or lower level employee, your work depends on what your managers/senior managers/directors/managing directors sell. If there's not a lot of work out there, you will be on the bench for a while. Staff level employees are not kept in the loop about what leads are happening on the selling-side of the business. Politics occur and favoritism occur as well as they do in any office. In my experience the lowest level employees voice is not heard and dismissed. Also, audit work can just get boring. I would encourage prospective employees to do research on what it's like to be in audit before signing an offer.

Pros

Compared to other consulting firms, the flexibility in the management here has been amazing. In my experience, teams do whatever they can to get the job done but also acknowledge that we have lives outside of work and are accommodating to that.

Cons

Pay is not competitive compared to other consulting firms and leadership is not as innovative as they could be.
