Pros

- Opportunity to learn and grow, not a company where your growth will stagnate -Proton is lean by design which means everyone’s wearing several hats and no two days look the same - No rep tape. If you have an idea or want to experiment, you can run with it - Great culture. Everyone genuinely enjoys each other’s company, folks are extremely low ego - All company metrics are transparent and accessible by anyone in the company. You never have to wonder how we’re doing - Endless opportunities to visit customers in the field to observe a day in the life and how our product fits into it - Company on-sites in Boston to bring the company together are fun and motivating - Product solves a real product in a market that’s ripe for disruption - Great reputation in the distribution industry - Company founder, Benj, is perceived as a distribution and AI thought leader - Extreme caution around runway and burn rate. I have no concerns about Proton going out of business. Finances are managed well. - Everyone who works here is a "doer." Even the leadership team is immersed in the day-to-day tasks (most of them also contribute individually in addition to thinking about big-picture priorities). All employees truly perform and propel the company forward.

Cons

- If you’re someone who loves career ladders and values predictability, Proton won’t be a good fit -Your role will change based on business needs. Those who aren’t adaptable and looking for their next big challenge might find this frustrating - There’s a steep learning curve when you join. Unless you arrive knowing about the distribution industry, expect to feel like you're in learning mode for a while - If you’re looking for a startup with a foosball table and kombucha on tap, you won’t find that here. We have fun, but we don’t have every startup perk under the sun.

Pros

Great working environment + team members. The people in Boston are super smart, but also high EQ. Growing quickly, so there are lots of opportunities to learn/advance. The leadership is experienced and engaged. 401k contribution, good healthcare plan options, free snacks

Cons

Still a growing company, so some of the processes like onboarding could go more smoothly

Pros

Generally good about work-life balance

Cons

High executive turnover, all of the real leaders have left What remains are bosses, not leaders Chaotic direction with no clear vision for the future Transparency from upper management about company health has disappeared The once strong culture has collapsed, leaving a “heads down, do the work, go home” environment Overall atmosphere has become depressing compared to what it once was
