Pros

Multiple Lab systems are killing the organization and is making providers workflow unsafe. Lacks clear lab operational leadership to make decisions and standardize workflows that makes sense for the providers and patients. Lab management from multiple states have a very regional mindset and competing with each other instead of working as a team to make impactful changes for the clinical teams. Organizational decisions are made based on subset group of needs without considering full impacts. Continue to increase system complexity instead of streamlining workflows and decreasing administrative costs. The system also harbor lots of long timers who are not fit for their job, waiting for retirement.

Cons

Great vision, lots of opportunities within the organization

Pros

(This is for Providence St Vincent Medical Center in PDX) - staffing ratios - break nurses - ONA union - coworkers on my unit are very helpful and kind (can’t speak for every unit though)

Cons

- upper management hates the nursing union - we are short on many supplies on weekend night shifts - crappy insurance - my unit’s manager is almost never there, they’re always on vacation or working remote. This makes our manager very out of touch with the unit’s needs
