Pros

One of the best companies I've worked for in the last 20 years without question. Strong culture of work-hard/play-hard, and a desire to be the best which encourages you to lift your game to match. Opportunities exist for those prepared to step up, put themselves out there and earn them (as it should be). Great encouragement is given to staff to build their community profile, which ultimately expands their own career experience. Something I've always appreciated is that nobody is above a good ribbing (especially management/execs), and everyone is ready to laugh at themselves, which creates a super friendly environment that doesn't tolerate inflated egos for long.

Cons

No company is perfect, and Provoke is no exception. Sometimes the work/life balance gets a little out of whack, but rarely is this not acknowledged and put right in the end. Consistency of comms from management/exec can be a little sporadic.

Thanks for the feedback We do have two main businesses, one in NZ and one in the USA. That said, we are one company that often leverage each other’s resources. This is a great way for our teams to get experience working for international clients but most of the business is services by resources located in country, so there really isn’t a formal notion of a “main hub” Thanks again

Pros

Laid out the mission and let us get to work. Free to make big contributions without micromanagement. Minimal meetings to disrupt developer flow.

Cons

A little bit vague on client timelines and deliverable dates. Some full-time employees did not contribute quality code but showed volume of git commits which seemed to be valued.
