Pros
Opportunity to work with talented people that really love what they do. I have learned a lot and experienced a lot of things. I have learned a lot about Particle Physics.
Cons
Lots of work for very little compensation. No real training for an actual job. You are at the complete mercy of your Adviser for time off, graduation time, pay. I feel that I was mislead in the opportunities that I would have after I graduate. I get school payed for not because there is a lack of physics scientists, but because it is cheap labor.
