Pros
I really enjoy working with Pyka. There are many interesting problems that come up, and the smaller size of the team gives me the opportunity to develop and learn about a large section of the codebase. I feel encouraged to pursue creative solutions, but at the same time, the company is grounded by focusing on rapid testing and validation in real-world scenarios (with real airplanes!). The culture seems very healthy to me. There is transparency from the management, and everyone seems to treat each other with trust and respect. I feel good about the long-term decision making and overall direction of the company. It's been great to be a part of the growing team and see the scope develop, and I'm excited to see where it goes.
Cons
I don't have a lot of cons. I guess the other side of the small company coin is there are not a large number of people-resources to draw upon like there might be at a larger company. Projects that might have whole teams devoted to them elsewhere will have only part of someone's time here. This is good if you want to work on many aspects, but bad if you are looking to specialize.
