Pros

They left me for few years to study their code-base and that was really useful for me. It increased my value as a software developer

Cons

I was based on the US and clearly neither me nor my colleagues were trusted enough to contributed to the main code-base. Basically Qlik does not act as a single company but rather it is a set of silos which do not interact between each other that much and certainly do not trust each other. The main silo is in Lund, then Ottawa and the weakest link are the engineers working elsewhere around the world. There is a lot of politics giving where each silo is giving heavy preference to its own political agenda and engineering staff. I have worked with people both in Sweden and Canada and have to say that nothing was straightforward in those interactions. Actually, I was perplexed why they gave me such a big salary for almost three years and while at the same time made sure that my contributions were minimal. I decided to leave because I felt underutilized and at the whim of very odd managerial decisions. Most of the managerial decisions which impacted my career at Qlik were made by remote managers who did not bother to understand what I was doing or did not study the particular situation before making decision. Again the surprising thing was that I had very good salary and benefits for the work I was required to do. I left because I felt the whole situation did not make sense and it would be dangerous for me to stay. After I left there were at least 4 attempts of Qlik employees to bring me back and that did not make sense to me either. So glad that this whole Qlik experience is part of my past.

Pros

Transparency, work/life balance, everyone here is treated as an adult, autonomy, benefits are great for the USA, people here are very intelligent, kind, honest, and hardworking.

Cons

Corporate bonuses are only paid to director level and above. I wish some sort of bonus was paid to everyone.

Pros

The people you meet at Qlik are one of a kind. Truly amazing, dedicated, supportive people. Whether that be the Demand Center leadership, your peers, or the sales managers. The culture here is phenomenal!

Cons

Too many changes, every year or sometimes even couple of months, you have new managers and a new territory. It’s hard to get a handle of it coming from one industry and training to another. The pay is low compared to other SDR/BDR roles in the industry. No fault to the managers on the BDR team, but the senior leadership tends to care more about activity volume on top of quota. You could hit your quota by 110% and they’ll still ask you to get 100s of calls in a day. The company has also lost the plot on product. Qlik Sense is an amazing analytics tool. If they doubled down on their analytics and made it truly in the cloud and low code/no code, they’d have better results.
