Pros
They make you do so much work within unrealistic deadlines with little to no-support at all...that by the time you leave the company (on your own terms), you're confidant you can achieve anything or everything in the world!!! So great will be your confidence level :D OT is paid time and half which is a good thing - even though it came after prolonged coaxing with management.
Cons
too many to reveal but I'll try my best to condense: 1. Upper Management is a bunch of money-mongers! they sign million $$ contracts with clients without trying to learn the feasibility of the project and dump on on their employees. 2. They do 'Nothing' to understand the needs of the employees. Clients are their Gods. Clients want to move mountains in no time and pass it on to delivery management, who then passes it on to poor contractors who work day in and out, night in and out to meet unrealistic deadlines. Overtime needs to be 'Approved' to be paid and most often the 'approved' OTs are only a fraction of the total overtime hours clocked in by employees to meet undesired deadlines. 3. 'Quali'test has tried hard to put in Quality in their brand name, but do not mind releasing 'extremely' buggy stuff out into public. When I say 'extremely', I mean it ...bugs of very high customer impact!!. Well...if client doesn't mind...what can 'Quali'test do?? :D 4. Employees are treated as robots!!! even lunch times are monitored (I know it depends on client but qualitest...come on...that's where you pitch in and tell the client NOT to do it. (Well, for that you need to first understand your employees and come to the right talking terms with them) 5. In order to get a raise, you need to be doing the impossible! following are their criteria to get raises: Excellent - bring in a new client who successfully signs a million$$ contract with Qualitest. you get a promotion. Good - you move at least 1 mountain - like bring out a complete change in the client's testing methodology, example - convince project managers and stakeholders to bring in automation into a complete manual test environment, including approval of budget to introduce new tools, training, performance boost etc in very less time. Yes - you may get a slight bonus! for normal employees who work hard, waste no time, keep up all responsibilities, work most efficiently and are proactive - No bonus, No raise...absolutely nothing!! please do not work hard thinking you will get a raise - won't work with Qualitest!
