Pros

I started at QCC 11 years ago. It was supposed to be a part time evening position helping with screening patients for a Federal program. QCC listened to "the Nurse doing the job" and it became a full time position by the end of the week. I am now the Site Team Leader of same Federal program and have grown from 30 Patients to serving 230. At every point of growth QCC has listened to our challenges and has responded to give our team what we needed to serve our patients.

Cons

At time I am here alone but some one is all ways a phone call away

Pros

I've been a nurse for 12 years and have worked skilled care, home health, hospice, & case management. I enjoyed what I did in those settings, but working for QCC is by far the best nursing job I have had in the field.

Cons

Corrections can be very demanding. It's important that you monitor yourself for burnout.

Pros

Being a MHP, I am struck by the amount of compassion our leadership team puts forth in advocating on behalf of our patients. They have implemented substance abuse treatment programming, offered extra supports as people transition into society, and expect patients to be treated as people, not inmates. QCC is also very supportive to their employees. They offer competitive salaries, good benefits, and they are supportive of our personal lives/needs (good work/life balance). QCC encourages outside learning while also offering CEUs. It's a small company, so the owners know us and know our stories, and are supportive of our lives and goals. They also stress knowing our co-workers by offering gatherings which allow fellowship and learning from one another.

Cons

They have high expectations for workers... but nothing we wouldn't expect from people treating our medical and MH needs. I've worked in big hospital settings where no one knows you or your goals and you find yourself lost in a sea of nameless faces. At QCC, it feels like family. Thought... I guess that's not a "con".
