Pros
A wonderful and challenging engineering environment. Lots of ability and time to learn new things since it is an older company that moves at a slower pace than most modern start ups. Everyone there has years of experience and is happy to share their knowledge.
Cons
Outside the immediate department. Management treats employees like animals in a zoo and doesn't care if their health is at risk. There was a huge COVID outbreak while I worked there as well as construction being done at the time and they refused to let employees work from home while they spray painted the walls. The paint fumes were terrible and ventilation was not operational during that time even after they were scrutinized for their COVID outbreak. They refused to fix old broken windows that were certainly covered in lead paint based on the age of the building. Surprised they never received an OSHA violation. I believe the construction is complete so probably not as big of a deal now, but just something to keep in mind. The other downside was the toxic culture, everyone openly hated the company and were too close to retirement to consider leaving. So the negative gossip around the company ran rampant on a daily basis. But some funny stories for sure.
