Pros
- Free Parking - Lots of company events (annual birthday party, Halloween Party, Christmas party, etc) - Close to the Galleria so convenient for lunch and shopping - Decent annual bonuses if the company does well
Cons
- Tax department had unpopular changes in upper management that led to massive turnover. They were still understaffed a year later - Lots of overtime. Expect at least 2-4 weeks of overtime every quarter. Management consists of workaholics. - Old school mentality so no 9/80 or working remote opportunities - Unfriendly and toxic environment. People only talked to you if they needed something from you. Quick to deflect responsibility and blame others, especially when they're at fault. - Quanta is extremely decentralized. If you work at the corporate office you're expected to please the operating units. That means digging into records, reconciling items, fixing numbers for the accounting department or the operating units instead of having them take ownership. - You have to know it all. Basically act as an internal auditor on top of the usual tax duties. Question and reconcile everything before you can proceed, leading to inefficiencies and frustration.
