Despite the numerous issues I encountered at Quantum Health, it is important to acknowledge that there were a few supportive and hardworking colleagues who made the experience more bearable. These individuals demonstrated dedication, professionalism, and genuine desire to help others. It’s unfortunate that their efforts were overshadowed by systemic problems within the company.
Cons
Even though Quantum Health is a "certified" best place to work, my time at the company was overshadowed by inconsistent communication, false promises, HR retaliation, and a toxic work culture that disregarded employee's genuine concerns. One of the most glaring issues at this company is the consistently poor communication within the organization. Messages were often unclear, contradictory, and lacked transparency leading to confusion and frustration among employees. It seemed as though different departments operated on different wavelengths, making it challenging to understand expectations and work effectively as a team. During the training process, new hires were intentionally misled. For six weeks, they preached to us that they were not a typical call center and that your job security would not be dependent on strict numbers or targets, but would be centered around delivering a quality member experience, but this turned out to be untrue. After training, the PSR role quickly becomes a trivial juggling act, encompassing the responsibilities of multiple roles at once. Leadership places unrealistic expectations on PSR’s, emphasizing the quantity of inbound calls rather than the quality of service provided. Despite receiving perfect scores on quality audits, employees are constantly under the threat of being fired for not meeting the call quota, leaving no time or resources to adequately support members in need. Quantum Health proudly boasts that they have been voted a "Best Place To Work" for 15 years in a row and that they are known for their inclusive culture that fosters mutual respect where everyone is valued and given opportunities. However, as a front-line employee, I can attest that this accolade is far from reflective of the toxic work culture that permeates the company. HR viciously practices manipulative tactics to undermine and invalidate the experiences, emotions, and concerns of their employees. Time after time again, issues are repeatedly dismissed with the phrase “assume positive intent” whenever you speak up about the way you are being mistreated and unsupported by the majority of leadership, specialists, and clinical team members within the company, avoiding all accountability. What’s even more concerning, is HR fails to provide necessary accommodations or support for employees who have certain invisible disabilities. This disregard proves that the organization falls short on the spectrum of DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) maturity and blatantly denies this population in their culture. Oh and just in case any of you are curious, I researched the accuracy of employer engagement surveys and was not surprised to find that experts are finding a growing trend in worker mistrust, leading to less than honest survey responses. This creates major issues for companies since they use this data for important decisions, like employee retention. The fact that Quantum Health is known for having a record high turnover rate contradicts the data that would suggest they're a best place to work speaks VOLUMES about how expendable we really are to them, especially if this data is tipping in HRs favor that they are meeting employee satisfaction and expectations. In conclusion, my experience at Quantum Health was marred by inconsistent communication, deceitful hiring practices, HR retaliation, neglect of certain invisible disabilities, an overwhelming workload, and a toxic work culture. I Strongly advise potential employees to approach this company with caution and carefully consider the potential challenges they may face.
