Pros

Some of the business units and groups within a unit are great, some groups are miserable. It all depends on the individual manager and how they run their department. If you're considering being an employee, see if you can meet your co-workers before accepting a position. See how sad/happy/nervous they are - middle managers are constantly having to justify their existence, so they may or may not back up their employees if there are issues. Benefits are pretty good, there is still 401K matching.

Cons

All of IT was outsourced and as a result the help desk is unusable and infrastructure response times are very slow. Network down? Too bad, it'll take a couple of hours to find someone to help. Expect to spend at least 30 minutes on the phone with the help desk, and unless your request is simple like a password reset, any help or fix will take weeks. The ticket that is created will be garbled and incomprehensible, often assigned to the wrong group. Although, you will get occasional emails asking if your ticket can be closed - even though the problem has not yet been addressed!

Pros

Pay is higher than most in the area. Hours are good. Benefits are good.

Cons

It’s very difficult to get time off for anything, regardless of how much vacation time you have. Only 15% of those hours will carry over and you lose what you’ve worked for and weren’t able to use. Not enough floats to cover the territory so people can actually get time off. Pay raises aren’t very good.
