Pros

A decent environment; senior and supervisory staff are kind and understanding people. There are a fair amount of chances for promotions and professional advancement, however these must be worked for; they are not handed out. Excellent opportunities to get your own ideas and projects started via the "Green Belt" system.

Cons

Because most workers are considered "essential personnel," we must be at work at ALL times, rain or shine. Quest Diagnostics is open 24/7 and 365 days a year and because of that, attendance is very important - it can get tough if you get sick easily or like to take time off. Although transfers and promotions opportunities come up often, they can be relatively hard to acquire without an outstanding (and extensive) history inside the company.

Pros

Pay is higher than most in the area. Hours are good. Benefits are good.

Cons

It’s very difficult to get time off for anything, regardless of how much vacation time you have. Only 15% of those hours will carry over and you lose what you’ve worked for and weren’t able to use. Not enough floats to cover the territory so people can actually get time off. Pay raises aren’t very good.
