Pros

Good people relatively laid back pay is decent work life balance is good vacation time is great you are immediately fully vested in 401K

Cons

Lack of communication of direction of company management makes decisions that are questionable The new owners cut a lot of staff and the result was that inbound volume was far too heavy to keep up with - add to that they implemented Salesforce.com for the team and then asked us to fix it for them when it went badly. Requests like this we were typically informed took priority over the inbound requests that were already difficult to keep up with anyway. Management in this department is uninspiring, they are all pretty new to management, don't seem to know much about employee development or care about the employees too much in general. There isn't much sales enablement as you will be asked to tackle heavily administrative tasks that they should have a support team doing There isn't really a training program No real room for upward movement, in an ideal world you would go to a new licensing sales job, but they want to pay you less money overall to be "promoted" to that team You have a team quota with a large team. It is not ideal, it makes "commissions" seem very low, and it makes the quota feel insurmountable

It sounds like you experienced all the drawbacks of the divestiture and none of the positive impacts. Some of those include a much smaller organization and leadership team, allowing us to make very quick changes when something isn't optimized. There has been significant change in the Columbus based Renewals Team over the last 90 days including compensation, promotions from within, process clean up and sales enablement. It's a very different environment and feedback from employees is positive and upbeat. Good luck as you search for your next opportunity!

Pros

I’ve had the opportunity to be part of this organization through multiple phases of growth, change, and transformation. Like many companies in the tech space, there have been challenges and periods of transition. What continues to stand out to me is the organization’s ability to adapt, evolve, and keep moving forward. There is a strong focus on innovation, continuous improvement, and finding better ways to work. Current leadership encourages employees to share ideas, embrace change, and help shape meaningful improvements. I’m especially excited about the growing focus on new technologies and AI, and how they’re being used to help teams work smarter, faster, and more effectively. One of the things I value most is the culture. Employees are encouraged to bring their authentic selves to work, share different perspectives, and participate in programs such as Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) that foster connection, belonging, and community. I’ve appreciated the organization’s continued investment in these programs and in creating an environment where employees feel supported, heard, and valued. One of the most rewarding parts of my experience has been watching people grow their careers over time, whether that’s taking on new opportunities, moving into leadership roles, or exploring entirely new paths within the organization. In my experience, those who are willing to learn, have a growth mindset, stay adaptable, and embrace new opportunities can build long and rewarding careers here. After nearly a decade with the organization, I still believe its greatest strength is its people, culture, and commitment to continuous growth and improvement. I remain grateful for the opportunities, experiences, and relationships that have made my career journey both rewarding and meaningful.

Cons

Like many organizations, periods of growth and transformation can create change and uncertainty. Success often requires adaptability, a willingness to learn, and an openness to evolving priorities.

Pros

Quest Software is a great place to work. The people are genuinely good people, very knowledgeable, and always willing to help. Quest is a strong environment if you enjoy solving complex technical problems, working with experienced teams, and helping customers address real business and security challenges. The company has a deep portfolio, talented employees, and many opportunities to collaborate across sales, presales, product management, engineering, and customer-facing teams. I also appreciate the flexibility, the trust given to senior employees, and the ability to contribute strategically beyond a narrow job description.

Cons

Like many large technology organizations, processes can sometimes be complex, and internal alignment across teams may take time. There are also opportunities to improve enablement, communication, and consistency around product packaging, roadmap visibility, and internal workflows.
