Pros

pass on - there is really nothing positive since the company was spun off Dell.

Cons

I guess I'll run out of space in this field : - lack of company culture - Management team totally disconnected from market and customers - Inward focus , All.The.Time - Strategy is to milk existing customers (renewals, compliance) with minimal new acquisition (little marketing, stale products, poor sales compensation) - The day they don't need you, you are out and in a very aggressive and unfair way - Total confusion about sales go to market - Travel and Expense policy is a joke, pay with your own credit card and hope to get reimboursed ... of some of your expenses. - Morale is at all time low : who hasn't left is busy with interviews (voluntary attrition is a company-wide problem) - They say they will listen to you (even here on glassdoor), but only to earmark you for next round - Fear and Scaremongering by undirected management - Total lack of vision, the mission is clear : meet the EBITDA targets (wrongly set mind you) - Work in 3rd class office locations (subrent) - In small countries you are not even a Quest employee - It's a Cayman Island resident company - pay taxes in no jurisdiction

Quest Software Response

I'm sorry that your 10 year run with Quest ended so badly. While many of the things that you say are accurate, many are not. I will just address one point: change, including workforce reorganization, is inevitable post-divestiture, particularly going from a very large to a small software company with a business unit rather than a functional organizational structure. Quest has never treated anyone without integrity and respect and endeavored to provide a financial cushion during the transition. Good luck with your next opportunity.

Pros

I’ve had the opportunity to be part of this organization through multiple phases of growth, change, and transformation. Like many companies in the tech space, there have been challenges and periods of transition. What continues to stand out to me is the organization’s ability to adapt, evolve, and keep moving forward. There is a strong focus on innovation, continuous improvement, and finding better ways to work. Current leadership encourages employees to share ideas, embrace change, and help shape meaningful improvements. I’m especially excited about the growing focus on new technologies and AI, and how they’re being used to help teams work smarter, faster, and more effectively. One of the things I value most is the culture. Employees are encouraged to bring their authentic selves to work, share different perspectives, and participate in programs such as Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) that foster connection, belonging, and community. I’ve appreciated the organization’s continued investment in these programs and in creating an environment where employees feel supported, heard, and valued. One of the most rewarding parts of my experience has been watching people grow their careers over time, whether that’s taking on new opportunities, moving into leadership roles, or exploring entirely new paths within the organization. In my experience, those who are willing to learn, have a growth mindset, stay adaptable, and embrace new opportunities can build long and rewarding careers here. After nearly a decade with the organization, I still believe its greatest strength is its people, culture, and commitment to continuous growth and improvement. I remain grateful for the opportunities, experiences, and relationships that have made my career journey both rewarding and meaningful.

Cons

Like many organizations, periods of growth and transformation can create change and uncertainty. Success often requires adaptability, a willingness to learn, and an openness to evolving priorities.

Pros

Quest Software is a great place to work. The people are genuinely good people, very knowledgeable, and always willing to help. Quest is a strong environment if you enjoy solving complex technical problems, working with experienced teams, and helping customers address real business and security challenges. The company has a deep portfolio, talented employees, and many opportunities to collaborate across sales, presales, product management, engineering, and customer-facing teams. I also appreciate the flexibility, the trust given to senior employees, and the ability to contribute strategically beyond a narrow job description.

Cons

Like many large technology organizations, processes can sometimes be complex, and internal alignment across teams may take time. There are also opportunities to improve enablement, communication, and consistency around product packaging, roadmap visibility, and internal workflows.
