Pros

Very hard to find any.

Cons

Company has no direction, and has not focused on integrating purchases. Poorly managed, bonus plan changes on the fly and is not written. It is hard to hit a moving target. Very little teamwork or support for others. Disingenuous communications with employees, either deliberate or from incompetence. It is hard to tell.

Quest Software Response

I'm sorry that your experience with Quest is not what you'd like it to be. I can't respond with much specificity since your feedback is very general and I can't identify you solely from the location shown here. However, I can say that we've spent a significant amount of time this quarter alone introducing our G3 plan and clarifying the company's strategic direction. All of our bonus plans are written documents with established and transparent criteria. That includes the Quest bonus plan which recently paid out at 100%. Finally, we have been so fortunate to acquire three exception companies in the last few months: Binary Tree, Quadrotech, and erwin. We have a robust integration team and all are blending very well. If you are truly concerned with making things better here at Quest, you know that we have an open-door policy - even virtual doors are open. Please reach out to me at luann.johnson@quest.com and I'd be happy to discuss this further with you.

Pros

I’ve had the opportunity to be part of this organization through multiple phases of growth, change, and transformation. Like many companies in the tech space, there have been challenges and periods of transition. What continues to stand out to me is the organization’s ability to adapt, evolve, and keep moving forward. There is a strong focus on innovation, continuous improvement, and finding better ways to work. Current leadership encourages employees to share ideas, embrace change, and help shape meaningful improvements. I’m especially excited about the growing focus on new technologies and AI, and how they’re being used to help teams work smarter, faster, and more effectively. One of the things I value most is the culture. Employees are encouraged to bring their authentic selves to work, share different perspectives, and participate in programs such as Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) that foster connection, belonging, and community. I’ve appreciated the organization’s continued investment in these programs and in creating an environment where employees feel supported, heard, and valued. One of the most rewarding parts of my experience has been watching people grow their careers over time, whether that’s taking on new opportunities, moving into leadership roles, or exploring entirely new paths within the organization. In my experience, those who are willing to learn, have a growth mindset, stay adaptable, and embrace new opportunities can build long and rewarding careers here. After nearly a decade with the organization, I still believe its greatest strength is its people, culture, and commitment to continuous growth and improvement. I remain grateful for the opportunities, experiences, and relationships that have made my career journey both rewarding and meaningful.

Cons

Like many organizations, periods of growth and transformation can create change and uncertainty. Success often requires adaptability, a willingness to learn, and an openness to evolving priorities.

Pros

Quest Software is a great place to work. The people are genuinely good people, very knowledgeable, and always willing to help. Quest is a strong environment if you enjoy solving complex technical problems, working with experienced teams, and helping customers address real business and security challenges. The company has a deep portfolio, talented employees, and many opportunities to collaborate across sales, presales, product management, engineering, and customer-facing teams. I also appreciate the flexibility, the trust given to senior employees, and the ability to contribute strategically beyond a narrow job description.

Cons

Like many large technology organizations, processes can sometimes be complex, and internal alignment across teams may take time. There are also opportunities to improve enablement, communication, and consistency around product packaging, roadmap visibility, and internal workflows.
