Pros
This review is about corporate. Decent salaries, lots of parties with alcohol. The culture is all about friendliness and socializing. They don't "lay-off" employees during downturns. They rarely have downturns, but if they don't meet their expected revenues, they just reduce the amount of "bonus" you get.
Cons
This review is about the corporate office. Cliquish. You are seen as a "true" QuikTripper only if you came up through the stores. There is a lot of hiring from within, bringing store employees into corporate office jobs. The entire culture is centered on the stores and the store employees who get better bonuses than corporate employees. They require fast turnaround on projects, but don't consider the ramifications of going too fast and losing quality. The IT department is years behind the technology curve employing .NET 1.1 web applications and old Visual Basic apps. When I left there was an initiative to update everything, but it sure made working with legacy code a challenge. Your salary is partly based on how well the company performs. That is to say, if they offer you $100,000, you'll 80% in your paycheck. The other 20% comes to you as a "bonus". If you like this sort of thing, then it may be a good place for you, but it wasn't for me.
