Pros

Want hours? Good you can have just about as many as you can handle. You'll have a set schedule as an assistant manager so there's not a lot of guessing when it comes to hours. Money is pretty good too. You could be doing a lot more for a lot less. Benefits are good. Health , 401k etc..

Cons

Clerks call out, other managers call out. You get stuck working and picking up their slack. In order to get promoted to have to kiss the right back side. It is most definitely the good ole boy system. Want a promotion into a store? cool hope you're friends with the manager at that store. Also you have to do what they call extra relief to even get considered for the promotion list. This means you have to drive all over the district to work for people who don;t want to come to work. Extra relief is code for everything is your fault. If you walk into a store that looks bad, you do all you can to fix it and bam your fault. Customers are rude and downright mean to you and if you have a backbone they will call corporate on you and you'll get in trouble Upper management blames you for everything. Other managers have attitude problems. I've been cussed at and threatened and the company did nothing about it when I complained. My advice is, if you have a backbone don't work here. If you want to kiss butts and be belittled have at it.

Pros

For part-time flexible hours and if you're a student you can get tuition reimbursement (If you work +13 hours and payed for your tuition). Also, good bounce as you work more hours. And once you stay long enough you can get health insurance and vacation days paid (you can get these benefits has a full time, but if you're and in high school and going to college after this would be better to keep flexible hours and later on get the perks),

Cons

At first, they give you a lot of information and even as you work with the company, there will be new things to learn. Bad thing about that is that store managers can get mad because other managers haven't explained to the clerks. So, it can be frustrating, this job is also a lot of talking so if your shy then that would be a problem.
