Pros
- The people are, by and large, world class. They work very hard and are really passionate about delivering, from MD and ECD down to juniors. - The ECD is inspirational, the best asset R/GA London has. He is arguably their key point of difference versus other agencies - Forward thinking company as evidenced by ambitious plans in EMEA, with Business Transformation, Accelerator programme etc - The above means that there are a lot of career opportunities for people to do different things and in different places
Cons
- The never ending focus on margin and revenue puts a strain on salaries and staff hiring, harms the work, hurts retention and even things like the entertainment budget. - A culture of hiring "someone's mate" or defaulting to ex-AKQAers who turn out to be either average or culturally problematic has proved difficult in the past. - Culture of misogyny in creative from some of the most senior people. One or two very senior men with consistently awful behaviour are indulged because they are deemed to be talented, but this has a toxic effect on the business - no-one is THAT good. - Exec team seem overstretched with EMEA growth targets and run the risk of drifting away from the "doers" as a result. Also means decisions simply don't get made, which creates chaos.
