Pros

Since I've worked at Accretive, I have been extremely impressed with the sheer skill, talent, and knowledge of the people who make up the firm. Everyone is driven and motivated (and very capable) to achieve the desired expected results. My observations were validated during our recent "All Hands Meeting" when highly regarded executives from the health care industry spoke multiple times about how impressed they were about the culture we have and the direction the company is heading. I'm honored to be a part of Accretive and look forward to many exciting things in the future.

Cons

As you move up within the company, the possibility of relocation and/or out of state commuting is not uncommon. Long days and weekend work are often a necessity and basically an unwritten expectation.

Pros

The voluntary separation offer was good.

Cons

I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
