Pros

My coworkers were wonderful.

Cons

The pay was terrible. The company treats employees like they are utterly disposable. The overall structure is disorganized and you are left to figure out lots of things on your own, but penalized if you make an error. And although the company has offices all over the area, be prepared to commute to the one location farthest from you at all times. If you request a transfer.... don't hold your breath.

Pros

The voluntary separation offer was good.

Cons

I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
