Pros

There are many reasons as to why Accretive Health is a great place to work....below are my top two reasons: 1) Opportunity for Professional Development and Growth: I have worked at this company for the past 4 years and am very impressed with the opportunities for growth that I have been given. Every time that I feel that I need a new challenge it has been very easy and even welcomed to transition to another position in the company which has very much allowed me a broader perspective on our operating model. 2) Visibility and Professional Relationships with Senior Executives: Throughout the variety of projects that I have worked on at Accretive Health I have been working hand in hand with Vice Presidents, Senior Vice Presidents, etc. which has provided me with a level of professional development, coaching, and mentoring that others my age at similar companies have not been presented.

Cons

- Very fast paced enviroment so if you are not a self-motivated and independent worker this is probably not the place for you. - We work hard and play hard so if you are a 9-5'er I wouldnt see this being your fit.

Pros

The voluntary separation offer was good.

Cons

I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
