Pros

There are good employees who are doing their best.

Cons

No breaks for the ED because they cut staff. There is no way for 2 people to correctly register the influx of people that come in without ambulances. All ED are not the same - we have many homeless patients that have no ID and are not cooperate. They also try to save time with some shortcuts that I’m not even sure is legal.

Pros

The voluntary separation offer was good.

Cons

I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
