Pros

It's a good entry role into financial services. You learn a lot about basic investing, Credit, Small business financing and operations, Estates, Mortgages Etc. RBC has a great culture & good benefits. Pivot from branch life as soon as you can.

Cons

It's a two in one role (Teller + Advisor) which is very stressful and unfair considering the pay. The branch can get very busy and you can be on the frontline all day assisting the tellers. Targets are impossible and frankly, ridiculous. Your branch & manager play a huge role into your success. Branch life can be very toxic.

Excellent collaboration between infrastructure and incident management teams; vendor coordination is efficient. Competitive compensation and benefits package, including solid health coverage and retirement matching.

Cons

Workload spikes during major incidents can challenge work-life balance, especially when on-call.

Pros

Stable work life balance. The culture is really great, very easy to work with complex management and managers. Willing to help you grow and learn with clients

Cons

Not a lot of room for growth unless you come in the door with that expectation. It can be very easy to get stuck in this role as your pay slowly increases and the job title mostly stays the same. Associate promotions and raises are rarely given and take a lot of coercion to get.
