Toxic People and Culture, Assembly Line, Poor Quality Development - Senior Software Engineer RLDatix Employee Review

Pros

Management appears to mean well, they're just out of touch and not involved enough. Work, life balance is actually descent as doing as little as possible just to get code out the door is completely acceptable, if you can rush code no matter how many bugs you generate doing so, you have lots of free time. Great place for developers that just want to coast!

Cons

Development teams and especially product, project management are downright toxic. People are quitting constantly. No one currently there built any of their applications due to attrition, so current teams don't even really know how anything works, nor do they have the skills, desire or time allotted to learn. The assembly line pace of superficial, rushed features providing little benefit is completely overshadowed by the amount of tech debt generated to rush releases. All productivity is tied to meeting points per sprint so developers rarely implement best practices, they do as little as possible to get it out the door and are willing to do use horrible development practices that should never be part of any SDLC. All resulting in an already mediocre (at best) product getting worse and newer applications, built on better architecture meeting the same fate ultimately.

Thank you for your feedback on your experience working for RLDatix. It is regretful that you may have observed behaviours which are inconsistent with our values and standards of conduct. RLDatix has undergone tremendous growth in a fairly short span of time and we are rapidly and aggressively aligning our Product & Software Development practices to facilitate collaboration among stakeholders as well as enable integration across the RLDatix portfolio. We have also recently completed a company-wide & anonymous Engagement pulse and are actively addressing identified points of friction and constructive points of feedback. We would be happy to discuss any specific circumstances that you encountered. Please feel free to reach out and I'm happy to organize a call with our CTO.

Pros

Work that directly contributes to safer care and better patient outcomes. Strong sense of purpose—you can see how what you do impacts real people. Passionate, mission-driven colleagues across the organization. Opportunity to shape how we support healthcare systems at a critical time. Growing commitment to aligning with customer realities and reducing complexity.

Cons

Pace of change is high and can create ambiguity at times. Processes, internal alignment, and ways of working are still evolving. Requires proactive communication and ownership to navigate effectively.

Pros

The people I worked directly with were supportive and talented, and there were opportunities to learn if you were proactive.

Cons

Leadership frequently shifted priorities, making it difficult to execute long-term strategies or feel like work had a lasting impact. Communication around organizational changes often lacked transparency, which created uncertainty and hurt morale. The marketing organization felt under-resourced relative to expectations, and employees were expected to do more with less. Career growth and compensation did not feel competitive with the market, and recognition for strong work was inconsistent. If you’re looking for a stable environment with clear direction and long-term investment in employees, look elsewhere.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're saddened to hear that you felt there was a lack of vision during your time with us, and we understand and hear your concerns. Our goal is to create an environment where everyone feels valued and supported. Our newer Career Elevation Strategy gives global team members visibility into career progression, and even more recently, we are working on a rewards strategy as part of that effort. Additionally, we're currently working on guiding our direction by setting clear goals, inspiring teams, and improving resources for managers, which in turn will provide stronger leadership for our teammates. We appreciate your perspective and wish you all the best in your future endeavors!
