Pros
Generous amount of PTO. 180 hours. Great place to learn data center skills. Most employees are skilled and offer good collaboration. Offer to provide some training on new skills.
Cons
Well below industry standards for compensation of the Chicago, IL area. No ability to move up to another position due to outsourcing most internal teams to India. Moving up in role is also impossible as no one in leadership can explain what the next level is even responsible for. Pay raises might occur once a year for a 40 cent increase. Pay increase is based on tenure and not on talent or metrics. Raising issues with leadership is strongly frowned upon. To such an extreme that upper facility leadership asked each individual to stop commenting new problems. Leadership will falsely let you believe you can be promoted from L2 to L3/L4, but can't explain the differences in responsibilities. Pay differences between levels is only 1.5 difference. Those that have won promotions, were individuals chosen at random initially followed by individuals with close relationships with their direct reports. Leaderships inability to provide a safe, friendly environment has created a highly toxic environment where discussing ongoing issues is frowned upon and is disciplined. When an employee is found to be following a process incorrectly, leadership refuses to hold those individuals accountable. Leaving the DC in complete disarray and creates further animosity.
