Pros

-Wonderful coworkers. Evident the patient care team truly cares about the population. Quality of care is excellent. -Safe patient/nursing ratios -Pretty solid PTO/sick time -Respected within the community

Cons

-Constantly changing health insurance providers/coverage year to year. We paid much higher premiums than peers of mine that worked at other healthcare facilities in the area. -Upper management has LIED to the media- nurses went on strike in 2024 and leadership gave false information to the news about how much the average Rady's RN was making before the strike (making us look greedy and ungrateful). Since the pay scales are public, anyone could verify this

Cons

Leadership is uninvolved in operational challenges. Routinely get the "do your best". Lack of leadership oversight in research programs - often unaware of the risks and challenges.
