Pros
Being a part of the team at Ramsey Solutions was everything I hoped it would be and more. Mission - providing HOPE; If you're just looking a job, don't waste your time applying. This place is full of crusaders willing to stand up to opposition for the sake of helping people find hope. Excellence is the expectation in everything and we're better for it. Culture - we get stuff done because there's a culture of hurting people counting on us, and we have a dang good time doing it; We win together and lose together; There's no room for ego here; Every team has their own subculture, but we're all aligned where it matters. Humanity - Despite having 1000+ team members (no "employees" here) and all the policies and procedures and systems necessary to support that size team, they're real people. We really care about each other. Your teammates, leadership, and executive/HR team don't just see you as a number. In the chapel there's a basket full of prayer requests so we can pray for one another. In the case of difficult life circumstances, they will work with you and extend grace whenever possible. They never get so stuck on their policies to blind them to the people sitting in front of them. Opportunity - crush it in your role and ask for more responsibility as you go, and the sky is the limit. There's so much opportunity for growth. Again, there's no room for ego, though. So check that at the door and put your servant hat on. If you're always looking around trying to get to the corner office, you won't make it. If you're super-serving in your current role and looking for additional ways to help, you'll go far. Work-Life Balance - 40 hour work week. Go home and don't work at home. Bring your family for the family events. Meet your spouse off-campus for a lunch date. Bring your kids to the Halloween party. Take that mission trip as a family. They want you to show up well for your family, not give them the leftovers.
Cons
It's not for everyone. For me, it was a dream job. For others, it won't be their cup of tea. Don't try to force yourself into a role here just because it's an incredible place to work. Just because it's awesome for those called to it, doesn't mean it will be awesome for you if you're heart's not in it. I like that it's in-person. If you're looking for hybrid or remote, this is not the place for you. They will not budge on that. They do have some flexibility in the hours you work, but it depends what team you're on. If you're customer facing, there's less flexibility on a regular basis (i.e.: you work 7-4, 8-5, etc.). If you have an appointment just let your leader know and you can generally rearrange your hours that week so you don't have to use PTO. But (unless it's changed since 2022), it's not flex hours like remote jobs where you can take the whole afternoon off and work through the evening hours. Again, this will vary by team and there are exceptions, but generally speaking you will have the same schedule each day/week. This wasn't really a con for me, but could be for some.
