Pros
Vibrant culture, great for those who are outgoing and vivacious. You have to eat, breathe and love sales to excel in this role.
Cons
Daily KPIs required - sometimes thrice daily - once in the morning, once during lunch and one when the day is over. This role is great for those with a flare for sales. As for me, after completing the psychometric assessment I was determined to have salient strengths cut out for sales, but boy was I so wrong. It does not seem that being honest or having integrity are traits recognized here - but then again, it is sales. Working hours are okay, but if you don't hit your daily KPIs then be prepared to stay beyond your work hours. During my weekly 'linkups' I was constantly appraised for my social behavior. Once during a company function it was said to me that the big boss wasn't happy that I wasn't mingling with the guests, but rather speaking with my colleagues. Also my team leader instructed me to 'socialize more' within the company. My personality wasn't a good fit, I suppose. This role is great for those who enjoy PR though. Expect to go drinking everyday. Glad I left and am back in an industry where my strengths are rewarded, not rejected.
