Pros
• High pay • Retirement options • On-site healthcare • HSAs with great insurance options • Covered parking with covered walkway into building • Cafeteria on site with reasonable prices • Convenient office location • Diversity • Inclusion groups • Variety of programming • Gives back to the community • One day weekly remote possibilities • Decently easy access to higher-ups (senior managers and executive officers)
Cons
Marketing department specific: • Creatives cannot flourish here due to templated, quick-turn processes that have been put in place • Markets itself as an "agency" but is more of a production shop with a "do this and do it fast" mentality • Low work/life balance (schedules are "thoughtfully overloaded" giving creatives unrealistic deadlines to meet) • Very young department (frequently hiring individuals directly out of college) • Promotions and leadership opportunities are based on who's been there the longest and not on credibility/talent/experience in the medium (ex. copy experts are acting as creative directors for design projects) • Creatives are hidden from clients entirely and account managers tend to get credit for successful creative projects (ex. the creative team member only hears about the project later if something went wrong)
