Pros
I worked at Real for about two years, and though, like any company, it’s a mixed bag of trade offs, overall it has been a positive experience for me. The interview process is one of the most streamlined I’ve had. I did really well on my coding challenge and so they fast-forwarded the application directly to the interview with the CTO and he made the hiring decision pretty much on the spot. The company more than doubled in size in terms of engineers while I was there, so there have been some inevitable growing pains of interviewing a lot of people and onboarding many new hires, etc., but the flip side is that are always new projects to choose from and as engineer you have a lot of freedom in terms of how you solve problems. The engineering leadership are all very technical so from that perspective it’s a no BS environment, and I've never been asked to work on something that does not make sense from an engineering perspective.
Cons
Lots of time interviewing new candidates and onboarding new hires
