Pros
- Compensation was competitive - Pockets of great people (although no deep friendships formed outside of the workplace) - Amazing charitable vibe at all levels - philanthropy was on point - Cafes are best in class - Inspirational opportunities (mainly through Red Talks) - Great place to start a career out of college (first-time job) - Fantastic internship program (you will learn a lot and be challenged) - If you love presenting, you’ll be at home here (think Toast Masters) - If you like a large company feel, this might be a good match for you - If you like openly being critiqued, this could be for you - think radical transparency (they have some work to do here still) - I like the CEO; wish I had time to get to know him better - Offices are best in class; especially in the new building - Lots of walking with meetings spread out around campus (you will also be running to back to back meetings across campus lol) - If you like the Ivy League campus vibe, this is for you (truly feels like school and the egos are Ivy League) - Sink or swim. If you find success, you will have a quick path to leadership.
Cons
- Highly micro-managed - Too many checkpoints which slowed progress - I will never interview again w/o meeting the leader I work under - Highly political - High ego at all levels; especially amongst senior associates - Too much time spent on manual reports and presentations - Over-thinking at all levels - Too many cooks in the kitchen (60 VPs and 120 Directors lurking around and questioning your every move) - Leaders have to practice/train before speaking with CEO and this mentality trickles down; not sure why we can't just be ourselves? After all, he's just a normal guy. - Lack of brand expertise - No loyalty - Always proving yourself or your work (lack of trust) - Not a great place if you’re advanced in your career - Didn’t meet a single friend that extended outside of the workplace which has never happened to me in my long career - First time I have never experienced great success or earned respect in my long career - Publicly shamed (people are exposed in front of groups); not me personally but I saw and heard of it happening - Very long hours (60+ p/week) - Working here will define who you are in and outside of work. It’s all-consuming and your friends and family (at least in my situation) will be wondering what happened to your spirit.
