Pros
You get to open and close your schedule, based on when you want or need to work. This is great as an extra job to get some extra money. Primary Markets pay better than the secondary markets. Great starting place, for a new agent.
Cons
This is ideally a part-time job for some extra money. There are no medical or retirement benefits. The real estate fees are paid by you. The depreciation that happens to your vehicle is severe. After subtracting taxes, expenses (gas, mileage, and time coordinating homes, and drive time, late clients, and no-shows...) The pay turns out to be about $11 to $15 per hour. You can make more money, as long as you can reduce your mileage from your home base and show more homes within the same neighborhood. It's like being an Uber driver for real estate, but you have to have just as much knowledge as the negotiating agent. The real estate MLS fees are brutal. You also have to pay for your own continual education courses. The pay has reduced, since joining the team.
