Good job for a part-time evening cashier - Cashier Redner's Markets Employee Review

Pros

Good coworkers, managers good to work with and fair. Yearly raises, paid vacation after working there for a time that equals average number of hours worked in a week. Regular breaks. Flexible scheduling ( I always got days off that I requested). Hard work is appreciated and recognized usually although there are favorites (as there are everywhere).

Cons

Hard work when busy for older cashier like me. Workstation is not ergonomically designed. You must constantly reach forward to pull items over the scanner, even heavy items like cases of water and soda because there are no price scanning guns. Very easy to have lower and upper back pain after a busy shift. Cashiers are constantly watched, timed and secretly observed and rated. Mandatory weekend work. Food-oriented holidays extremely busy as are days prior to forecast snowy weather. Really less bad than good.

Pros

Easy to apply, close to home. Stationed at a quick shop

Cons

Most employees are giving full-time hours but kept us part time in order to not have to offer benefits or hours protection. Pay is poor for labor and hours demanded.
