Pros
- For newcomers, learning a plethora of technologies in a short span was terrific. - Teammates close to near aid you in learning the most (not management). - New college grads make up 95% of analysts (however, no one has more than 2-3 years of work experience).
Cons
- People were fired for going above-and-beyond. - RQ only escalates tickets and never performs incident response (unless a client has an automated plan). - Everything is done in a SIEM and/or EDR -- no ability to triage on the host. - Senior leadership often danced around real issues, offering political responses instead of solutions. - The push for politically motivated reviews on platforms like Glassdoor felt disingenuous. - The revolving door of employees was alarming, with a significant number (greater than 120+) leaving in just over a year. - The heavy reliance on GreyMatter limited the scope of technological exposure and learning. - There seemed to be a random and infrequent approach to employee training and certification, with no clear criteria for eligibility.
