Pros

Competitive pay. Solid product. Smart ground level and middle management employees who work hard and are good teammates to one another. Financially sound and well managed company from a cash perspective. Willing to move people around to new divisions even without experience if you’d like to try a new role.

Cons

While the product is truly superior and delivers, it’s a crowded market and it’s hard for customers to distinguish its value until they actually are a customer. With no ability to POV and actually “show it,” this makes it tricky for customers to delineate between all the FUD competitors throw at RQ. In terms of culture, the CEO’s personality will be what limits this company’s success. Being called on the carpet, publicly, is a norm and it’s driving a lot of strong people away. Employees with really good ideas at senior levels who have actually worked somewhere other than ReliaQuest are either afraid to speak up or most commonly have no autonomy to implement what would actually be a better way. If it’s not “The RQ Way” as they call it - forget it. Not only is there little diversity at the senior most and mid management levels but it makes it very hard to see diversity of opinions because of how he rules the C-Suite.

Thanks for your feedback. We agree that ReliaQuest's GreyMatter platform solves a unique problem in the cybersecurity industry and in many ways puts us in a category of our own. However, it's disappointing to hear your perspectives on our leadership and company mindset. ReliaQuest's success over more than a decade is due to our commitment to our people and to our company values: being accountable, helpful, adaptable and focused. We're always looking for ways to get a little bit better and welcome you to reach out to feedback@reliaquest.com so we can better understand your experience.

Pros

ReliaQuest has been a phenomenal place to work. One of the biggest things that stands out is how much the company invests in people who are willing to grow. It’s rare to find a company that promotes Business Development Representatives within 10–12 months, but here, hard work and development truly get recognized. If you’re willing to make yourself uncomfortable, apply feedback, stay adaptable, help others, and keep the right mindset, it will pay off. Management sees that effort and rewards it. It’s definitely not an easy job, but nothing great comes easy. What I’ve learned here in about a year is honestly what I believe would have taken me 3–5 years to learn somewhere else. ReliaQuest sees high-potential employees and genuinely wants to invest in them.

Cons

The role can be challenging and fast-paced, so it requires a lot of adaptability and resilience. It’s not an easy environment, but that also creates strong growth opportunities. It's also because of the industry in general!

Pros

My time at ReliaQuest has been life-changing. From the moment you join, the company invests in your growth and development, helping you evolve into a high-performing professional and leader. Since joining RQ, I’ve felt consistently challenged in the best way, while also being fully supported in everything I set out to accomplish. One of the things that makes RQ so unique is the level of support available to help us grow, both personally and professionally. We have two full-time mental performance coaches who are always there to help us navigate challenges and overcome obstacles. They’ve also built a Leadership Foundations program for emerging leaders. After six months at RQ, once you’ve completed a mindset badge and demonstrated excellence in your role, you become eligible to join the program. It’s an incredible opportunity to accelerate your career and learn the fundamentals of what it means to be a strong leader for your team. What stands out most to me, though, is the people. Everyone here is high-performing and pushes you to be the best version of yourself while striving to get 1% better every day. As a company, we truly live out our values—being accountable, helpful, adaptable, and focused—and I believe the people here embody those values every day.

Cons

While the challenge of cybersecurity is what drew me to RQ and this industry, it can also be one of the more difficult aspects at times. To be a leader in AI-driven cybersecurity, you have to constantly adapt to the evolving needs of the market. With that comes change, both within the company and in the work itself, and success requires embracing those challenges rather than resisting them. It isn’t always easy, but with the people around you and the mission you’re working toward, no change or challenge feels impossible.
