Pros
Good pay and good PTO--I never had any issues using it. My co-workers were amazing! Varied caseload that I learned a lot from.
Cons
Very high pressure to pick up patients, even if you decide they are not appropriate for therapy. Always being told to "think creatively" or from a "different perspective" when it comes to picking up a patient or not and use corporate jargon to explain away ethics. I'm not sure EBP ever entered the equation when they developed their "Model 10" philosophy. DORs are actively being told to challenge and question evaluating therapists' clinical decisions. In fact, a regional said that the quality of therapist is judged by whether he/she can find something to treat (bill for) even if the person can walk, talk, and swallow. It's even worse if you are a new clinician. Regionals are hired/fired every few months so there is no consistency. Not provided with any tx materials or assessments, I had to buy a lot myself or just get creative. I felt like I was forced to constantly toe the line of fraud. Forced overtime, although paid, being forced to work 50+ hr weeks is insane. I took a 30% paycut just so I could leave my job with this company.
