Pros

The most dedicated humanitarian staff I have met in the field, trying to count every penny to help those that have been affected by whatever tragedy they may have faced. Some paying out of their own pocket to make things easier.

Cons

Limited funding Field staff benefits are atrocious, especially in conflict areas. (R&R, relocation, etc are a joke) accounting system is a mess and they do not have any idea how to recover cost, which impacts the organization. In some instances, recruiting seems non-competitive, favoring old boys network Field staff are not appreciated and not understood.

Great mission dedicated, kind and honest country team members.

Cons

Strong mission, very weak leadership. Fear replaces trust, loyalty matters more than competence, and accountability seems to stop at the executive level. Talented people leave, while difficult behavior is tolerated. Proceed with open eyes.
