Pros

* Employees at Remine are friendly and keep company a good place to work * Technologies used and stack allow for good engineering practices * Accessibility to my executive (CTO) is really good, unlike most companies I've worked for * Some really high quality developers hired which helps keep products moving * Engineers try to all work hard together, sense of teaming in large releases * Hiring continues to happen which is helping because there's too much work * Engineering leadership work just as hard as the individuals, helps with pushing together when we are working really hard

Cons

* Everything starts at design first. It is backwards and the engineers are starting to talk about leaving. We work hard but yet the designs of our product are amateur at best and we could build better and faster if someone asked. * Burden of late hours and all the work is on Engineering, everyone at the company otherwise leaves early every day. * CEO makes decisions without buy-in, becoming a very top down company, fires people who go against things, keeps people who don't. * We are asked to build at a fast pace but design and product can't stop changing their mind and causes lots of rework. People are leaving because they don't want to deal with this anymore. * Our office is getting full, more space and meeting rooms would help with clearer thinking

We are far from perfect, but we are striving to improve every day. One thing is clear, we can always do better with internal communication. We move fast at Remine because we are continuously innovating and iterating. However, we need to make sure everyone is kept in the loop as much as possible. Being "design first" is actually something we embrace at Remine. Having said that, the engineering team is a key partner in realizing this vision. We greatly value your involvement, ideas, and feedback and will do better to bring you into the process earlier. I worked with some really great people.

Cons

After 7 years of dedication and riding all the ups and downs and turmoil this company has experienced, basically from its inception, I was let go with no notice and NO severance. I feel I've known that the day Remine would shutter it's doors was coming from the moment we were sold, but I kept showing up trying to change that fact. Without the tools, funds, resources and people required to make a difference there was never a chance of success. Now, after this round of layoffs, I fear there is no future for those remaining at Remine. The board has no care about the people at Remine and this company has no future.
