Pros

The best reason to work for Renown is their policy of inclusion, collaboration, compassion and caring. These charecteristics are not only goals towards better patient care, they are the mentality of the people. I moved from Las Vegas to work in Reno, I had done a clinical rotation as a therapist 18 years earlier at what was then Washoe Medical center. From the moment I was hired I've been happy with the inclusive nature of my Director Kendra Webber, and the Staff of the Rehab department as well, When working with patients on the floor in the past one of the biggest challenges has been collaboration and assistance from the nursing/CNA staff. But here the attitude of teamwork and collaboration is truly at work making for what is ultimately a great experience for our customers. Lastly, some say "your pay rate are not competitive", I say , look at the numbers outside of salaries, When I added up all the generous benefits provided by the corporation, I'm actually making more that I have in previous years. Just the reduced cost of Medical insurance is a substantial consideration. In closing, Every one I meet that's a new employees or potential one I say" Renown is a great place to work, because of the compassionate corporate culture that is in place. I truly look forward to a long and satisfying relationship with this company and its customers and the great opportunities to grow as a person, and a therapist.

Cons

The downside of working for Renown is not the company, Its the challenges of dealing with people who don't respect the staff, Im not sure if its a cultural thing or what, but entitlement seems rampant in a certain segment of our customer base, and that makes for a challenging delivery of services at times.

Daily communication with my team. My team has been friendly since I started. I really enjoy the remote/hybrid environment they have set up for the accounting department and it made juggling my school schedule easier!

Cons

I've never written a review before, but felt I needed to say something about this company. I have worked for some bad companies in the past, but Renown has to be one of the most toxic environments I have ever had to work in. Hostile, coercive, and intimidation techniques used. Renown has the largest medical operations in Reno and surrounding areas of Nevada, but it is one of the lower paying medical hospitals. This should tell you something about the business. Renown talks a good game, but the hypocrisy and true mission statement of Renown becomes clear once employed. We care about money and only money. Recent massive class action lawsuit filed by Renown employees not getting paid appropriately by Renown. Settled in 2025 Renown Health lost. New hires are now having to sign a mandatory arbitration agreement. If you leave company, Renown does not honor your PTO and keeps all PTO money earned if not used. Worst company ever worked for in my over 20 yrs experience.
