Pros

Depending on your manager, you have a lot of autonomy to build your day and get your work done. It's hybrid so some work from home, some in office meetings, and then face-to-face field meetings with your books of business.

Cons

Your book of business is 500+ customers and based more around customer service than strategic problem solving. It is mostly centered around price increases that happen without your knowledge until a customer calls to complain and then you have to defend the pricing or fix it. It's a lot of putting out fires which makes it hard to find time to be proactive.

Pros

We used to have to come in every morning and stay in the office for at least an hour, then go out into the field, come back at least an hour before 5pm and stay in the office. They changed it so we only have to come in in the morning and it's so much nicer.

Cons

I really didn't get along with the sales manager. On my first day, the manager who hired me announced he was leaving. About two weeks into my employment, the new sales manager wanted to make crazy changes to show his authority. It went downhill from there. He made major cutbacks and the things he kept where supposed to be thought of as gifts, such as bottled water.
