Dear Former ResQer,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us
We’re delighted to hear that you appreciated the excellent team culture and mentorship opportunities within the Product & Engineering team. Creating an environment where our team can learn and make an impact is a core value for us.
As a Series A startup, we are in a phase of rapid growth and development. Pivots are not optional but necessary to learn and adapt to market demands quickly. While these changes can be challenging, they are made with the intention of positioning us for future success.
Transparency is a cornerstone of our values, and we strive to keep our team informed about business decisions. We’d like to believe we run a very transparent business where everything from our financials, metrics, performance, and wins/challenges, is openly shared during all-hands and available at all times through our tracking tools, that everyone in the business has access to.
As you mentioned, we have had recent changes on our executive team and this was part of our strategy to bring specific expertise needed to elevate us to the next level. While this may have been an adjustment for the team, it was aimed at strengthening our leadership team to guide us through the next growth phase. Several of our executive team members are based in the USA. We believe that finding top talent shouldn’t be constrained locally in Toronto. With this, we are building out team hubs and have office spaces in both NYC, and Miami that provide our non-local team members a space to collaborate and work together. Our Management team in Toronto is at the office regularly, including our CEO being at the office every day.
We are constantly reviewing our benefits and perks to ensure they are competitive and meet the needs of our team. At ResQ, we foster an office-first environment because we believe this enables purpose, through presence and proximity. The decision to have our team spend time in the office was made to foster collaboration and innovation. The effect of people building personal bonds, innovating together, collaborating cross-functionally, learning and doing things together is, at least for us, much harder to replicate to its fullest extent being fully remote. We do understand the need for flexibility and that life happens and we always support any flexibility the team needs.
We’ve always been open with what to expect at ResQ and have publicly posted about our culture for anyone considering ResQ, including Why ResQ might not be a fit for someone - https://www.notion.so/getresq/Joining-ResQ-e32fcd0e5d4b4278b7f99e45004c0b2e
We are committed to creating a positive and transparent working environment and appreciate your feedback as it helps us to understand what we are doing that is working and areas for development. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts and for being a part of our journey!
